Lake of the Ozarks In Water Boat Show & Magic Dragon Street Meet Update

At Poly Lift Boat Lifts we believe in supporting our community and the events in our area. Many events across our community have been canceled or postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19. In this week’s blog, we will update you on a few of the events at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Lake Of The Ozarks Spring In-Water Boat Show Is Cancelled as of April 1, 2020.

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association announced today that as a result of the Center for Disease Control’s warnings against large gatherings, in an effort to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), they have voted to cancel the April In-Water boat show scheduled for April 17–19.

This show traditionally helps kick-off the boating season at the lake and gives dealers an opportunity to showcase the current year new models. The LOMDA board of directors says they made the decision to cancel out of "concern for the safety of their many boating customers, and the many potential show attendees." The association pointed to their first core value of "Focus on the Boating Customer," saying they feel that, at this time, this is the right decision to make.

Mike Kenagy, the Marine Dealers Association’s Executive Director said, "With the current state of this pandemic worldwide, we just could not take the chance, as this boat show normally attracts thousands of visitors over the weekend."

The LOMDA board of directors also recommended visiting the Association’s website for further information on the many boat dealers in the Lake of the Ozarks area. That website is www.LakeOzarkBoatDealers.com. Visitors will also find a list of all upcoming LOMDA boat shows throughout the year, as well as links to access the individual dealers' websites, allowing boat-buyers to shop from home. All dealers are currently open for business, and you may contact any of them for a one-on-one meeting if you see a boat that you’re interested in.

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association is made up of over 40 lake area marine dealers, offering dozens of boat lines, marine accessories, docks, personal watercraft and more.

Kenagy added, "The Marine Dealers Association will move ahead with the Fall In-Water boat show scheduled for September 25 – 27 at Captain Ron’s at The Lake of the Ozarks."

Magic Dragon Street Meet Rescheduled for September 11th - 13th

The Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals Committee Chairs, and Lake Area Chamber staff met for a
special meeting. In light of COVID- 19, based on the recommendations by the CDC, as well as Governor Parson, it is recommended that for the next 8 weeks, in-person events that consist of 10 people or more be postponed. It has been decided to postpone our Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals that was scheduled for May 1st- May 3rd, 2020 to September 11th- 13th, 2020. As we work through finalizing all of the logistics surrounding Magic Dragon Car Show, we are excited to share that the Big Foot Monster Truck has been confirmed to participate with our new event dates. A special thank you to the Bagnell Dam Strip Association for accommodating our event in correlation with their already scheduled Hot Summer Nights. “We are excited at the opportunity to host our event on the newly established dates and we feel attendees from both our Car Show as well as Hot Summer Nights will experience some great benefits” stated Lake Area Chamber Director, K.C. Cloke. “We will be updating our various platforms with the new dates as well as notifying our 400 registered attendees, our sponsors, vendors, and the business community supporting the event.” For all Magic Dragon Car show inquiries, please email CarShow@lakeareachamber.com.

We are sure many people are disappointed that we won’t be to kick off our summer season at Dog Days checking out all the new boat models and marine products, just remember we have all season to enjoy the water and before we know it we will be at Captain Ron’s this fall. The staff at Poly Lift will continue to answer calls and help anyone who has boat lift issues or is looking for a new lift. Now is a great time to check out our website and upgrade the dock with new accessories.

Our staff has been responsible for several engineering advances within the boat lift industry!
