Docking a boat is not an easy task. Our Lake of the Ozarks boat lift company knows even the most experienced boaters can have a difficult time docking when the water is rough. It is key to practice docking your boat under all circumstances. Here are some helpful docking tips for a smooth docking experience every time.  1) Never approach the dock any faster than you are willing to hit it .  You never know what unpredictable obstacles will cause your prized possession to do the exact opposite of what you intend to. As a precaution, it is best to approach solid objects slowly so that in an uncontrollable circumstance, your boat “hit” won’t be detrimental.  2) Applying more power than nature.   This contradicts what was covered above, but when you are driving the boat, you need to be using enough power to compensate for the wind and water current.
